Immersive Programme

The VZN Film Fest Immersive Programme offers a chance to experience film in a more personal and physical way. Through installations, screenings, and live moments, audiences are invited to spend time with new forms of storytelling and to explore how artificial intelligence is becoming part of the creative process.

Alongside the annual film festival, the Immersive Programme creates space to slow down, look closely, and encounter film beyond the traditional cinema setting.

What You Will Find

The Immersive Programme is designed to be calm and open. Rather than a fixed event with a set start and end, it is something you can move through at your own pace.

Depending on the programme, you may encounter

  • Film and moving image installations

  • Small and informal screenings

  • Live demonstrations of how films are made using AI tools

  • Conversations with filmmakers and artists

  • Open moments where audiences can watch or gently take part in the creative process

The focus is on curiosity and exploration rather than technical knowledge or performance.

Who It Is For

Anyone interested in film, creativity, and new ways of telling stories. You do not need a background in filmmaking or technology to take part.

It is especially welcoming to

  • People who enjoy film and visual culture

  • Students and early stage creatives

  • Artists exploring new creative tools

  • Anyone curious about how technology is shaping culture

The atmosphere is intended to feel relaxed, accessible, and welcoming.

Access and Participation

Where we can, this includes free daytime access, open talks, and sessions designed for students and emerging creatives.

Some parts of the programme may be ticketed to help support its continuation, while others remain freely accessible to the public.

Where It Takes Place

Immersive Programme events take place in temporary and repurposed spaces across the city. These might include empty offices, unused retail units, or other underused buildings.

Working in these spaces allows each programme to respond to its surroundings and creates unique settings for film and storytelling, while keeping the experience simple and low impact.

Why It Exists

The Immersive Programme exists to create shared spaces for film, conversation, and experimentation. It offers an alternative to traditional cinemas and galleries, bringing film culture into everyday urban spaces and opening it up to wider audiences.

Stay Involved

The Immersive Programme changes over time and responds to the spaces it inhabits.

If you would like to hear about upcoming experiences, open sessions, or ways to take part, you can follow VZN Film Fest online or sign up to hear from us when new programmes are announced.
